BEIJING - Jun. 25, 2001 - Forlink Software Corp. Inc. (OTCBB: FRLK), a leading provider of Application Integration Technology (AIT) and services in China, announced recently that it has already finished the design and development of General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) Billing and General Business System for Beijing Mobile Communication Co. Ltd. (BMCC). It will be adopted by BMCC as the kernel of the Business Operation Support System of Beijing Mobile GPRS services.
As one of the most important application integration partners of BMCC, Forlink has already won multiple contracts to assist BMCC to build and expand the business support system. In Jun 1998, Forlink won the contracts to help BMCC build the foremost billing system and general business system. In April 2001, Forlink won the contracts to help BMCC to expand its billing system and general business system. These systems have already run safely and normally for more than 3 years.
Under the new contract, Forlink will assist BMCC to fabricate a convergent billing framework. GPRS will be first implemented within this framework, followed by new and existing services such as IP (Internet Protocol), WAP (Wireless Access Protocol) and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication), which will be converged into the same style.
The new system will allow Beijing Mobile to tremendously improve quality of services, attract and retain more customers, increase revenue by cross marketing IP and voice services, provide a complete service portfolio with bundled services, shorten time to market for new services and reduce operating and maintenance costs.
